This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not
that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10

Texans

This week I had the privilege of working alongside a group from Texas- such a special treat! I absolutely love all the Californians I live with, but it was nice to spend the day with fellow Texans. Maybe it was the comfort of their accents or the fact that they had 4 Baylor Bears with them. Either way, the southern hospitality and friendly faces were a tremendous blessing! This team of doctors from Lubbock, Texas was in Kenya with Buckner International. They had spent several days offering medical services to the impoverished people of Nairobi and then traveled to Kitale for two days to do the same. During their two days in Kitale they saw 759 patients- amazing! God used this team to minister to the hurting people of Kenya and to me- there's just something about being around a familiar culture and group of people.
