This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not
that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10

sweet tea

Yesterday, I finally earned my stripes as a true Texan by making sweet tea! Apparently this is something a Texan should know how to do- although I'm convinced that this isn't really a necessary skill in Texan since every restaurant and food joint in the state brews their own sweet tea. The tea turned out delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Success! In an attempt to match our sweet tea to a food normally eaten with such a tastiness, we had the brilliant idea to make homemade mac-n-cheese. This was the first COMPLETELY American meal we've had since being in Africa. Usually we stick to the basics- rice, lentils, chapati, samosas, cabbage or spaghetti noodles. I'm pretty sure we've had rice every single day for past last two months. So as you can see, macaroni and sweet tea was a VERY special treat for all of us!
